The XXI Ordinary Session of the Municipal Assembly of the People's Power corresponding to the Seventeenth Term of Mandate takes place in Imías, in the presence of Osmany Guzmán Simón, First Secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Party in the territory, Ramón Nolasco Torres, official of the National Assembly of the Popular Power and Juana Brook Cotilla, Head of the Independent Department of Relations with the Local Organs of the Popular Power. Today the strength of a country like ours relies on what is capable of being done, as demonstrated in their speeches by our delegates and the opinion of our population. In this Imías Valley, greatness is made when we invoke our people, from each position, to do what corresponds with enthusiasm, understanding, frankness, sensitivity and responsibility, providing all the hands, ideas and suggestions to idealize the words of our First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Mario Díaz Canel Bermúdez, in the 8th Congress of the organization.
The Assembly was nuanced by the deep analysis of vital issues that have to do with the diarism of the immigrants. Among them, the Health Program, which in the midst of this terrible pandemic caused by COVID 19, has not stopped its march and although it is true that there are objective problems, the delegates also recognized others, loaded with subjectivity that they deserve the immediate action of their cadres and workers, in a general sense. The framework was conducive to recognizing the work carried out by workers in this sector in the confrontation with COVID 19. The Food Sovereignty and Nutrition Education Plan was the object of analysis at such an important meeting. In this sense, the delegates agreed that it is a challenge to achieve municipal self-sufficiency, essential to achieve the long-awaited Food Sovereignty and Nutrition Education. Many were the ideas that were contributed, ranging from the preparation of the paintings, the rigor with which one must work, the need to temper ourselves to the times we live in, put the land in the hands of those who make it produce until the need to weigh popular participation and increase ties to the rank and file. In this process we are not only beneficiaries, but also protagonists of the transformative action, because food production and nutritional education involve everyone, which, according to Guzmán Simón, success is in the integration of the production, transformation, commercialization processes and consumption of local food, with a focus on sustainability, gender, generational and adaptation to climate change.

In the midst of the complex scenario that the Country is experiencing and that Imías does not escape, the delegates spoke out in pursuit of continuing to work in order to achieve higher quality in the completion of the Basic Housing Cells, increase the preparation of the housing technicians, their link to the base and promote the responsibility of bricklayers and residents, when evaluating the granting of subsidies to natural persons; this noble program that reaffirms, once again, the value of our Cuban Political System, by having man at the center of its attention.
Aware that we cannot allow ourselves to be overcome by the weight of difficulties, that it is necessary to give new vitality to popular mobilization, whose initiatives strengthen us, the Imías Popular Council gave an account to the Assembly. The commitment to improve work prevailed, under the premise of unity and commitment; as well as making the results of Integrated Community Work projects more visible, accompanied by a coherent Social Communication Strategy. The session was distinguished by the rendering of account by Vilmayda Machado London, President of the Municipal Assembly of People's Power, on the fulfillment of its powers and its integral management, which with a critical eye, exposed the results achieved during the mandate. The delegates recognized in her a firm woman, an exceptional person, a cadre of these times, sensitive and demanding, that infects her spirituality and her desire to do more for this land. Of faultless conduct, love of what he does without wavering or wavering.
